What are HA fillers, exactly?
Juvederm and Restylane are hyaluronic acid fillers suspended in a gel carrier. This gel helps the hyaluronic acid stay in place where injected. The hyaluronic acid works immediately by pulling in water, therefore, increasing the volume where injected. This is a great option for wrinkles, deep folds and other areas that need more volume such as cheeks and lips. These fillers dissolve naturally and can last up to one year, with some lasting even longer.
Aesthetic medicine is a broad term for specialties that focus on altering cosmetic appearance through the treatment of conditions including scars, skin laxity, wrinkles, moles, liver spots, excess fat, cellulite, unwanted hair, skin discoloration, and spider veins. Sculptra is a bio stimulatory injectable comprised of poly-L-lactic acid that helps to restore facial volume gradually. When injected, it stimulates your skin's natural ability gradually to make collagen. Over several months, the poly-L-lactic acid is biodegraded and replaced with a meshwork of new collagen. Treatment areas could include the cheeks, jawline, nasolabialfolds, temples and cheeks. Some people require three treatments initially, then one each year. The results can last up to two years.
What is Kybella, exactly?
Kybella is an injection that can permanently destroy fat cells. Depending on the amount and type of fat, one to five Kybella vials might be necessary. The technique may look similar to shaving, but it is much more effective because the blade being used is able to get right against the top layer of skin. There is no need to worry about the hair growing back darker- dermaplaning targets the vellus hair (peach fuzz) that grows back the same size and color. In addition, the way the surgical blade cuts the hair does not create the illusion of thicker hair. This treatment does not require downtime.
