What are HA Fillers exactly?
Juvederm or Restylane are hyaluronic fillers that are suspended in gel carriers. This gel helps the hyaluronic acid stay in place where injected. The hyaluronic Acid immediately draws in water to increase the volume of the area where it is injected. This is great for deep wrinkles and folds on the face, as well as areas that require more volume like the cheeks or lips. These fillers are dissolved naturally with most lasting up to a year and some even longer.
Aesthetic medicine is a broad term for specialties that focus on altering cosmetic appearance through the treatment of conditions including scars, skin laxity, wrinkles, moles, liver spots, excess fat, cellulite, unwanted hair, skin discoloration, and spider veins. The treatment areas include the jawline, cheeks and nasolabial folds. Some people require three treatments initially, then one each year. The results can last up to two years.
What is Kybella anyway?
Kybella is an injectable treatment approved to permanently destroy fat cells. A single session may require up to five Kybella vials depending on how much fat is present. Additional sessions may be necessary depending on the extent of the treatment. The most common area of treatment is the submental fat otherwise known as a 'double chin'. Once an aesthetic goal is reached, treatment can be stopped.
